The Fergus Reel
This tune was composed by my uncle John Joe Casey (R.I.P)from Clarecastle, County Clare, a fiddler and concertina player. It won 1st prize for composition at the All-Ireland Fleadh in 1960. It can be found on the Green Linnet CD - Trian/Trian II. In 2001, GL formally acknowledged in a letter to him that they had mistakenly credited the tune on the CD cover to someone else.

The Fergus Reel
The correct title of this tune is "The Fergus Reel" not "The Fergus". Apparently, The Session will edit out "Reel" in any title, perhaps thinking that members have mistakenly included the tune "type" in the title, when submitting the tune.

Lovely tune - It caught my eye whilst browsing as my wee boy is called Fergus, so I was curious. So I'll HAVE to learn it now!
Danny.
