Alejator
Tune by Patrick Cavenaugh in honor of Alejandro Moreno. Named for a 1920-something banjo with a faux-alligator finish that was Alex's axe when he first started playing Irish music several years ago.
This tune's sure to become a staple at the McGinty's session in Silver Spring MD!

Whoa! I didn't expect to see this here! Funny! Well, as long as it's here, here's my notation, pretty much the same but the triplets notated differently, and I made a change in bar 5:
|:B/c/dB cBA|agf gdB|gdB GBd|e3 e2f|
|g2c f2A|gfd cAB|cdc BAG|1)FGA cBA:|2)F3 F3|
|:cdc BAG|FGE3 G|FGD3 G|FGE3 B|
|cdc BAG|FGD4|1)FED FGA|DEF GAd:|2)FGA cBA|B/c/dB cBA|
We'll give it a go next week!

Ha, I remember Andy Katz was shopping for a banjo for his daughter and we ran across it on Bernunzio's website - truly the ugliest banjo I ever saw, or so i assumed by the photo. Alex was in the market for a starter...and told him about the banjo...the rest is banjo history and is bound to become the stuff of legend. Now I have a tune to add to the story...thanks!
