March really, not a reel
You will notice, if you play this, that it's actually a march. But I can't see a separate category for that tune type on this site.
Anyway, it was written in 1982 by Melbourne fiddler and folk identity Felix Meagher. It deserves an outing or three. Stirring tune. Those who know their Henry Lawson will recognise it's named after one of his most famous poems.
Felix wrote the tune as an instrumental to accompany his own song setting of the poem, as part of a concert of Lawson set to music. I asked Felix to play it with me recently, and he didn't recall the melody, so here it is.
C'mon you Aussie players - get onto this pearler home-grown original.

Yes, muspc, you are right. Those F's in the a part were not meant to be flats, but naturals. And it's all F sharps in the B part. I trust I've amended it correctly now.
Yes - rwarford - thanks for pointing out that nicety. Trouble is, A Aeolian is not selectable under "Key".
