Pat Donald

Scottish. It's actually one of those rare animals, a 4/4 polka. However, as thesession doesn't have such a category, I've submitted it as a "barndance"

I learned it from the late Hugh Blake, when he was playing with us back in the late 1980s. What his source for it was, I don't know.

It's 32 bars long, but this achieved without any repeats.

Interesting...

I find myself wanting to play it, as notated, in 2/2 rather than 4/4. Which is probably because I'm not familliar with how 4/4 polkas should be played. What tempo do you take it at?

Thanks!

Pat Donald

This is a Scottish Reel (not barn dance or polka) composed by Adam Rennie. Often played with other compostions of Adam Rennie such as Bill Sutherland etc.
