This tune was written by Frank McCollam, of Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, who played the Fiddle, Bagpipes & taught the local Accordion band.
His most popular composition was 'The Home Ruler', made famous by Noel Hill & Tony Linnane on their benchmark recording.
I have it in the back of my mind that Deirdre Havlin recorded this tune when she played with Deanta, but I'm not sure. No doubt someone out there can put me right.
I learned it from Fiddle player Chris McCormick, who was Franks star pupil.
