I feel a slide coming on
Don't know another name for it but for me this is definitely a slide and I would write it as below in 12/8
M: 12/8
L: 1/8
R: jig
K: Dmaj

In 'G'
Another amendment would be to place it in the key of 'G'

Old Swan Band played it
This Jig is an English one and still is very popular.
It has been recorded by the old Swan Band. There is also a Version recorded by Oak (Rod and Danny Stradling, Peta Webb, Tony Engle) from the Beginning of the 70s

It's definitely called Rig a Jig!
harpalaska - the bands in my area have been playing this tune for years. It's a favourite of melodon players.
Hetty - I'm amazed that you've never come across it before. I thnk that you're right though about it normally being played in "G".
