Obviously a first degree relation to Down the Broom (http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/514), but has a distinct individuality of its own, especially the slightly psychotic 2nd part with its shades of the Piper's Despair creeping in there. Also reminds me slightly of the Corner House (http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/479). Other similar ones: Lady Birr (http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/4499) & Follow Me Down To Galway (http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/837). God's sake, if I was being picky I could say it reminds me of a hundred different tunes. Who ever said they all sound the same?

Anyway, this one has coalesced into a separate entity in my head, and I would never be able to make up my mind as to which of the hundred or so similar tunes it could be a variation of, so here it is.

Catherine and John McEvoy have recorded a similar version of this tune: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/837/comments#comment155271 Yes, it's definitely a version of Down the Broom.

Lovely setting of Down the Broom. I've heard it referred to Down the Broom No. 2 on some occasion before.
