Sorry CP, I can't help you here but I hope someone can as the second is a powerful jig that I've been after for some time now.
Maybe the Brefni Céilí Band should be re-christened "The One Man Band" as the banjo player was well out-numbered by all those lovely young ladies!

I suppose you could call that jig ' Blessed art thou among women'......I'm afraid the lack of men was always a problem in Co Cavan. Such a poor county that all the men folk (meself included) had to leave for pastures new. Lucky old banjo player I say.....

Thanks Kilfarboy. Now we have two great new jigs to add to the repertoire although it will be interesting to find the name for the second. Now it's in the "Tunes" section I wouldn't be surprised if Ceolachan, Dow or Slainte might come up with something very quickly.

I greatly enjoy the material on the Comhaltas site but feel that part of the organisation's role should be to provide the names of the tunes wherever possible.
If it is a problem due to time constraints couldn't the mustard board members add tunes names where they are missing?
Having made the suggestion I must confess I would be very little use as my memory for names has long since failed

I've been playing your transcription kilfarboy, it's in front of me now, but sorry, it isn't a tune that is striking any rumbles of familiarity, except for bits, even in the deep dark recesses of my curiously wired brain, but I'm enjoying my time with it, listening to this link and giving it a go, and in more than the given key...
