Ossian's version
THis is in fact a 6/8 pipe march, not a jig strictly speaking.
THis is the version I know from Ossian's Seal Song album, which is on this site - www.thesession.org/recordings/display/951.
I have submitted it in its "correct" piper's key of B minor, but Ossian play it initially in A minor before doing the key change up.

Jig...
No, as far as I know, it is a jig, not a march. The 3rd part's missing from your transcription.
Obvious similarities to "Lannigan's Ball". I think this might be
an example of Scottish pipers taking an Irish jig, putting it into a key suitable for the pipes, and making a 4-part version of it.

No 3rd part from Ossian
Yeah, you're doubtless right Kenny about it being a jig, not a march. There is a 3rd part, which is almost identical to the 1st part. Ossian left it out, I suspect because doing so improves the tune by giving it more urgency. This is the version I decided to transcribe.

Lt. McGuire's/Mrs. McGuire's
I learned this tune years ago in E dorian from a highland bagpiper and play it after Banish Misfortune. Because the 1st and 3rd parts are so similar, I play the 1st slightly staccato, with double stops. I add rolls to the 3rd part and play it more fluidly. The syncopated fourth part sounds rather flashy when played briskly, but is actually quite easy to play.
