The Caravan

I learned this a couple of weeks ago at a workshop in Brechin, Scotland, given by Joanie Madden. She also gave it a Gaelic name which sounded like "an carawan". I have searched for it here, but haven't been able to find it. I don't know many jigs which are so short.

Kenny was also there, so I wonder if his memory of the tune is much different from mine?

This is the song version of Paddy O'Rafferty, or Paidín Ó Rafearrtaigh! I love it so.

Cheers,
Armand

Dervish does this in a set with the Black Rogue and The Fair Haired Canavans. It's possible Joanie mixed up the titles an called this Na Ceannabhain Bana which I could see sounding like Carawan, especially if it was further mixed up by accents and the like...

There are some issues I have with the transcription, mostly in the second part. I'll see if I have time to post the ABCs of the version I play (which comes mostly from Dervish)
