Old-time tune doesn't belong here.

Doesn't sound anything like Irish music to me.
Sounds like crap.

Nail that Catfish

I believe it may be in The Portland Book and at our session it was paired with a tune called Possum up a Gum Stump. A pair to raise eyebrows in any session!!

Well,

Windybaer, although I agree with you, you did post Ragtime Annie! (My least favorite American tune... yea I know everyone does it.)

The Portland Book, Ive paged through it a few times and listened to people play from it... It seems to have quirky newly composed tunes that you either love or hate... the Appalachian/American tunes are medicore versions and I can't speak for how it handles Irish and other traditions, but it didn't go over well with me with the trad. American/Appalachian stuff. But then again people take it to sessions and read right from it, and the results, as with most sheet music players are stale. From a "collection" standpoint though, I don't even think the tunes pass as accurate "skeletons" sometimes. Gee aren't I a critic today? Sorry for the unsolicited review!
