A hard driving tune. More of a reel than a polka, but that's the only way of submitting 2/4 tunes.

Cuckoo in the Tree
I believe that this tune should be in cut time (2/4), so that's how I submitted the abc. However, it would appear that (for some reason) Jeremy has modified the whole thing - so semiquavers have become quavers, quavers have become crotchets, and crotchets have become minims. This hasn't of course changed the melody in any way.

Thanks for your feedback, joesmith. Looking at your abc posting, I gather that if you omit a numeral after a dividing sign (/) then the numeral 2 is taken as the default.
Didn't realise that!
However, I still don't see why my orginal abc posting was invalid (although it could have been shortened).
