I know this tune from a set on The Iron Horse's first album that starts with The Cape Breton Fiddler's Welcome to Shetland. The set is followed by three tunes, but only three of them are named on the album cover (or at least, only three are named on the websites hosting the album that I have looked at... I'll have to have a look at home and see if the missing fourth is named on the album there! On the album this is played almost as a fiddle solo, sounding very minor and moody with minimal offbeat guitar accompaniment, before the set breaks back into a major key with a whistle to the fore like the sun cresting a hill at dawn. Except it doesn't sound poncy when it's played! The tune that comes after this is called "The Lintie" (or at least, the third named tune in the set is) and I will write it into the Session when I have time.

Hmm, when I wrote "The set is followed by three tunes, but only three of them are named..." I meant only two. Or only three of the four including the The Cape Breton Fiddler's. And I didn't mean "The set..." I meant "The first tune of the set...". I obviously have no ability to type left in me. Well TFI the weekend...

Not the Morag's reel played by Wolfstone. Perhaps the "No. 2" tag should have been retained.

I do think the No. 2 is important. No idea whether it alludes to the existence of a primary "Morag's" (maybe the Wolfstone tune referred to above), or (though I think this is unlikely) something more toiletary. But whatever the author intended, I have never heard this tune called simply "Morag's", so it's probably better to stick with the name they gave it. Or if you think my second theory is correct, "Morag's Poo"...?

Sleeve notes say this tune "is dedicated to a lump of tweed".

No. 2 = Morag's Poo? Possibly, but playing a tune called "Morag's Jobbie" might not go down too well at the WRI ceilidh.
