Mrs Martin's Slide
This tune was discovered in Mrs Martin's papers by her son Dr Donald Martin of Killybegs. It isn't clear whether she had composed it or transcribed it, although the latter is more likely.

This is a lovely version of a well known slide, but it may take awhile for my memory to make the necessary connections... Maybe someone else will get there before me but I'll do some searching...

Single jigs (slides) were not uncommon in the repertoire of the North, Ulster, or so it seems from the folks I had the pleasure of talking to and sharing time with... They were played for different types of dances, from couple dances to country dances and figures for the sets of quadrilles...
