MacDonald's

The second of two tunes collected from Gina Le Faux way back when. Gina learned it from the playing of Cape Breton Fiddler, Joe Cormier. We also think that it is somewhere in Kerrs, when I find my copies (5 volumes) I will have a gander (hmm). (Great collection, many hidden gems lie within)

I play this with slight swing, but have left the dots unswung this time. It follows on from the Birthday reel, and the key change into A really lifts an already upbeat set.

Occasionally we put the two together and play them as a 4 parter when needing a 64 bar reel.

Hi Dave. It's in Kerr's Merry Melodies Vol 3 as a 3-part march. Good tune.

Duplicated

It's in Amix, not A major.

MacDonald's

Hi Nigel,
Thanks for this, still have not found Kerrs, but I like the three parter, it has a very different feel from the version I learned from Gina, another evolving tune, and none the worse for that. A mix, noted and changed
