Garrett Barry's (hornpipe)

This hornpipe version of the well-known jig was learnt off Kevin Burke and Jackie Daly's classic recording, "Eavesdropper." The CD doesn't come with the sleeve notes, so I am not sure where it comes from. Perhaps, it's their invention. But it sounds like K. Burke is trying to emulate Bobby Casey or Junior Crehan's playing style on the track, so it might come from Co. Clare.

Garrett Barry's (hornpipe)

Nice one, Slainte!
I'm happy to be reminded of this tune. Great for the fiddle, C-whistles, etc.
I'm not so familiar with his history, but did Garret Barry himself come from Clare?

>so it might come from Co. Clare.

Mr. Edigar, have a look at this discussion thread: http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/11490

Hope it helps.

As a keyless flute player myself, I would play this hornpipe in Edor. I'll post the version in the flute-friendly key, hopefully in a couple of days.
