This tune is transcribed herein in 4/4 time rather than the 2/4 time that appears in Cole, 1940, where it is also printed as a 24 bar tune with no repeats. I would suspect players would treat this as a 3-part tune, repeating each 8-bar part.
Rathkeale lies about a third of the way between Cork and Dublin, in Co. Limerick. Slater's Directory of Ireland provides an interesting look at this market town/parish in 1846:
