The Man in the Bog
I got this from the playing of concertina player Breda Shannon and her brother Aidan on flute from Ballinameen, Co. Roscommon. They follow it with The Munster Bacon.

This is a great tune. I've heard it on the Border Collies CD, Unleashed. For some reason, that tune listing is linked to another tune.
# Posted on July 6th 2008 by Keith Dubinsky
Ah... THAT's where I've heard this tune before.
# Posted on July 6th 2008 by Phantom Button
There... it's linked now. It was lacking the word, "The."
# Posted on July 6th 2008 by Phantom Button
Actually... this brings up a good point. If the link from the recording fails to go to the right tune try doing a search on the name and all of the listings will appear.

Is there a known C: for this one?

Yes, you could still do the drop down moody Es ~ | BEE dEE | ~
The options, by nature are not exclusive. And that long D3, well, you could go mirror with it and play it DBB, or take that whole measure any number of other ways, with little or no conflict at all...
Thanks for this morning respite button, avec espresso... It's the perfect pastry...

Sorry, you'll need that backslash on that lead-in for the B-part if you're pasting those ABCs into one of those dot-converters, like concertina-dot-nets... Otherwise strange things can happen...

Another correction ~
And that long D3, well, you could go mirror with it and play it DGB ~
Obviously I haven't enough espresso in my system yet.

I know, I know, 'pest', I'm going. I was just having fun, you don't have to go round the twist about it. I'm back on the espresso transfusion, after playing this lovely a few more times, and then we're off on a long country walk, hopefully...

C: Brendan Tonra
This jig seems to be a composition of Brendan Tonra. According to the sleeve notes of Marcas O'Murchu's first solo album, he learnt it directly from Tonra.

C: Brendan Tonra ~ go raibh ma 'agat Hiro
Thanks, that makes sense, at least to my peculiar combination of brain cells...
