Anybody know what this is called?
I haven't got a clue about this tune, but I know it's Scottish. I learnt it from a recording by a ceilidh band, that could have been Jimmy Shand, but I am not sure, because I know hardly anything about Scottish music.

I do know it but can't put a name to it just now.
It'll come to me eventually, I'm sure.

On the recording it is followed by another jig that I don't know the name of (which I will try and post soon) and then Drummond Castle, and then goes back into this tune at the end.

What album is it on?

I actually downloaded it from somewhere, but it says the album is "Ceilidh Dance Party (UK)". The track is just called Strip the Willow.

You can give this a title by going to "edit details".

Haymaker's jig
Yes, that's the one.
I used to play it with the "Fiddlers" but I probably wouldn't have remembered the title myself.
Thanks for that, Dow. You're not a bad lad really....

I have this version of The Haymakers (from 1781) in the book Traditional Scottish Fiddling:

T: The Haymakers

To quote:
"The Haymakers' Jig was a popular dance in the late 18th century and was danced all over Scotland."
