Rev Archie Beaton
This is one of the first airs I learnt, and still one of my favourites. I was surprised it wasn't here already. The transcription (from Fiddlers Companion) is just about as I play it - indeed, I've left in the ornamentation because everyone I've heard play it, plays a similar version.

Some info lifted from my source, "The Fiddlers' Companion":
Scottish, Slow Air (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning. AAB. Composed by John M. Mason, a lawyer, fiddler and conductor (of the Kilmarnock and Ayr Strathspey and Reel Society and lately the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in Troon), and a native of the Orkney Islands. The Rev. Airchie Beaton was Minister of Dundonald Parish Church in Ayrshire and a champion of Gaelic culture, who died suddenly in 1971 at a Gaelic event. Hunter (Fiddle Music of Scotland), 1988; No. 7. Martin (Ceol na Fidhle), vol. 2, 1988; pg. 19. Green Linnet SIF‑1084, Eugene O'Donnell ‑ "The Foggy Dew" (1988). Rounder RO 7023, Natalie MacMaster - “No Boundaries” (1996).
