Names of Paddy Fahy Tunes

Paddy Fahy did not give names to any of his compositions. This particular jig appears neither on "d flute album" nor on "In Good Company" by Kevin Crawford as the Paddy Fahy tunes on these albums are respectively a hornpipe and a reel. I presume that the information on recordings is added by an automatic process and the result is a list of all recordings in the database entitled "Paddy Fahy's" rather than a list of recordings of this particular tune which, by the way, doesn't sound like a Paddy Fahy tune to my ear.

Paddy Faheys

Yup

I know this as Paddy Faheys also.
I heard it on an album called "Music from the Cross Keys Pub "
But they played it with mixed C's ( sharp and natural ).

Info on Paddy Fahy, the person

Does anyone know when Paddy Fahy lived or when he wrote the jig in D?

Paddy Fahy

Paddy would be in his seventies but as far as I know is still going strong. He's a composer of many tunes most of which are very distinctive with their use of accidentals (F naturals and B flat, etc) although frustratingly they're rarely given names - how many Paddy Fahy reels have you heard of? Hopefully he'll continue composing these wonderful tunes.

Yes, and I wish he'd record -- unfortunately, or rather fortunately, the only way to hear him besides in person is on the jillion tapes people have made at his concerts.

Tom Fleming's- additional name

I added the last tom flemings as the title because the link wasn't working to the recording Masters of Celtic Accordian. The link is now working.

This is the Fahy's Jig which appears on Enda Scahill's "Pick it Up" album although his version is a little different. Still have to learn it yet to I'll take Enda's version.
