In response
http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/8417 I sthe tune that started a big discussion...
"Modes" came up and in traditional music, I believe modes are still often misunderstood and misrepresented by the dots and the chords...
So here is the tune I wrote or should say finished because it previously came to life but never to completion until I got a kick out of the "Tour Around the Box" and all that went with it.

You think it sounds, really?
All is relative, but I really don't like the color, sorry, as the melodic lines are not so inventive... I think it was no use to post a composition you won't like anymore in a few weeks, was it? Or maybe I'm too old school...

Hmmmmm... Poor David....
Planxty David ~ yours
The Bangum ~ not yours
Farewell to Derry ~ yours
The Bummer's ~ not yours
Gan Ainm ~ not yours
Who's counting, but when something like this, not even really a very interesting exercise for the fingers or bow, comes along you're just driven to check its provenance and the submitter/creator's history...
So, you owe on this count at least 7 traditional tunes, but for this one, hell, it needs more than Jeremy's request for 'at least' 5-to-1'. Let's see, if I were feeling kind and conservative, 15 traditional tunes just for this one. I don't think that's being unreasonable. I'll be more forgiving, you can earn the points by adding alternate takes on tunes already in the database, for say half that number, and the other half, well, the usual means... That's generous don't you think...

I owe more than that!
Hey, Im an over spender... dig my own holes and then dig them deeper! I may have time to climb out thoguh...
Its ok if you dont like the tune... for me it works. I really got a kick out of fris's fight for his tune...The cleverness is not evident because the melodic lines are very simple... I didnt write it to be clever though... it is beautiful to my ears. Ive added some context with some chords (for those who plug things into the tune o tron)

The second part is sweet the way the high a comes off of the Em chord. You'll be whistling it before you know it!
