Sir Thomas Fairfax's March
Following my last post, I thought I'd better redress the balance
As the title suggests, this is a march rather than a jig and should be taken at a tempo of about 120.
Sir Thomas Fairfax was the commander of the Parliamentarian Army during the majority of the English Civil War - not Cromwell as many seem to think. He was never a "politician", though, so perhaps history has remembered him somewhat the less. There's more about him here:

120 bpm ~ maybe for dance, not for marching! It depends on the use...and if you were going uphill with a full kit someone would be honoured for shooting the conductor who took it that fast...
