"The Lurgy" ~ the contagion is music
This has been rattlin' around in my head and I haven't been able to find the places it came from, especially that A-part. It is definitely under the influence, like the various flus that fly in with the birds, they go away and the come back slightly changed, new ~ cough, cough... Our house would definitely be under quarantine if the World Health Organization recognized this particularly infection strain... Come a little closer, sniff, sniff, so I can sneeze on yoooouuuaaahhhHHCHOO!!!
There is no cure...

Lurgy ~ a small village on the Isle-of-Mischief, somewhere between the isles of Clare and Tory...

It seems more like "The Loogey Hawk".

Hey Laitch, are you actually recognizing something or just trying to wind me up? If we're going to be childish ~
What's green, hangs from trees and is dangerous?
Elephant snot!

From your 'Contagion" post, 'c', it just seemed like it might be a phlegmish tune.

No problem, 'c'.
The latex barriers protect me. It's still confined to your house.

On the subject of green stuff...
...there's nothing a cheese and Swarfega sandwich won't put right, ceolachan.

At the moment, surprise of surprises, I'm not affected. It is my poor wife suffering the chestiness and hacking... I'd better get to preparing more hot whiskeys for her...

Looks like we're all down with the "lurgie"
my wife and I are also suffering with it at the moment but I do like the tune. It's another good one for my de-clubbed Club. Looks like the "Lurgie" is gonna be around for sometime yet.

Cough, cough, cough ~
Me too, wouldn't you know it. I spoke too soon. With my shot lungs I was surprised it hadn't come sooner. Poor wife has had it for a couple of weeks now. She thought she was getting better, and then had to skip out on our swinging together musically last night. I was teaching and was definitely worse than my usual semi-consciousness. Thank goodness for good people. They ribbed me but were kind, in the ribbing sort of wink-wink way... I guess if nothing else they are learning 'slagging' from me. Maybe I should concentrate more on the music and the dance in it, eh?
With this has come snoring, when I can sleep, so I had to occupy the couch last night...

The A-part is very James Hill. I suspect it came partly from the Tailor's Twist and more than likely a residual memory of the B-part of the Newcastle Hornpipe. Does that sound right, 'c'?

Hallelujah! Thanks Mark!
Yes, the B-part of "The Newcastle Hornpipe" and the A-part of "The Lurgy", absolutely. Thanks Mark, it had been driving me mad and I couldn't find it anywhere...
