"Gan Ainm" ~ but hopefully not for long
I've been sitting on two lovely tunes that I'd heard Clare concertina player Mary MacNamara play. I wrote them down quickly and then sent out queries to a few folks in hopes of finding names for them, and any other information. I also made a couple of tries to contact lovely Mary too, but her website has disappeared and the old email I had for her doesn't work. I didn't want to add these as gan ainms but with names.
She plays them as one would marches, an easy relaxed tempo, approximately 110 beats per minute...and with a lovely bounce to them... I'll add the second tune later if it isn't already here.

Bill Malley's. It's here. The direct link is in the recent thread where sts asked for ideas for a polka set. Nice transcription though, which I'm sure you'll add to the comments.

I'm still hoping I might hear something more from Mary or someone else in the area. While I see the relationships, A & B, they are really different transcriptions and ways with an obviously related melody. It doesn't surprise me I never found the link, the difference is that considerable... Here's a little bit for comparison of the two, first two measures/bars each part ~
T: Bill Malley's
M: 4/4
L: 1/8
N: AABB = 32 bars
R: Barndance
K: G Major
P: A
|: D2 |\
G3 A B2 GB | dedB G2 d2 | ~
P: B
|: (3gag |\
e2 d2 g3 e | dedB G2 (3gag | ~

Thanks Gary for having me check out the three. There does seem to be a relationship of some sort...

This and the 'barndance' ~ "~ with an obviously related melody ~ " ~ maybe not? They do all share that marchy quality though...
