Father Quinn's (jig)
This is one of the old-fashioned tunes I heard occasionally in Leeds 3-4 years ago. I didn't have a chance to record it, but recently came across it while listening to sample sound clips of Mick Mulcahy's solo album. He calls it Sean Ryan's, and a bit of research shows this is in fact Tipperary fiddler Sean Ryan's composition. Plenty of possibilities for ornamentation, but I like keeping most of the phrases simple.
My memory isn't very reliable, but I think I've heard it played in some other places. It might have been a ceili band in one of Comhaltas Live clips, or perhaps I'm confusing it with another jig: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/469 Anyway, it's a nice little composition which goes well with any traditional jig.

Variation
Maeve Donnelly recorded the second part like this:
~e3 Beg|bge gfe|~d3 edB|AFE DEF|...
Pretty much like Contentment is Wealth.

Father Quinn's (jig)
This is a great jig. I also remember it on Comhaltaslive but I did a search on the site and couldn't find it. I can only assume it was on the old subscription-based Comhaltaslive and hasn't yet been transferred over to the new site.

Called Father Quinn's Favourite in Sean Ryan's "The Hidden Ireland". The version there agrees with the Maeve Donnelly one. It also fleshes out the BdB in bars 2 and 6 of the A part as (3Bcd B.
