"The Pendle Witches" ~ a Lancashire slip jig with 'snap'!
This is a crazy tune, but I like it. I can't see ignoring the curiosities around me, so I've contributed a few tunes from the North of England of different forms, but not that far removed from what generally collects here. I think, personally, that if you are in a place that has something happening music wise, and even if your main focus is say Irish, you'd be inconsiderate and even foolish to ignore the music outside your door... So this and the few are a nod of respect for Northern England...or at least I hope they are taken in that way... Besides, how many slip jigs do you know that 'snap'? I could always claim I'd been cursed to do this... 'nicholas', Noel, Geoff, & 'jig' drove me to it... (~ there, I've blamed significant others, passed the buck, so maybe with the blame spread I'm safe?)
