Self Composition
This is one of my own jigs which I composed a few months ago. I can't exactly remember what inspired me to write the tune but the tune title has a mildly humorous story behind it:
"The school religion class went to Croagh Patrick for a pilgrimage last autumn. Three teachers came and one was a flute player, Mr. Price. While walking up the mountain my friend Maurice noticed a ladies and gents toilet facility which was a strange enough site on a mountain side. He said "Look, there's a Jax* on the mountain!." Mr. Price then said that it would be a good name for a tune and so I decided to give the title to this tune. He also pointed out that it could be a pun on the fact that we were all "Jackeens**".
*A jax is a common Irish word for toilet.
**A jackeen is a person from Dublin.

Last note
Sorry, the last C should be the higher one. I've edited the ABC but the sheetmusic won't change but it's not a big deal anyway.

The Jacks on the Mountain
A great jig Paddy that also conjures up images of pilgrims half way up Croagh Patrick who might get caught short! The title could also refer to another two musical Jacks (Jack Coen, Galway flute player and our own Jack Gilder) having a tune at these giddy heights to break their climb. Back to the music - the jig melody also has a minor feel here and there so there's probably some interesting chords to be found; will have to try it on the piano.

Thanks Bannerman! Never knew you played the piano though. Fair play!

Great Jig!
Really like this tune! I either play Boys of Tandernagee or Pat McKenna's (Em) after it and follow up with Man in the Bog (G).
Great story, too!
