Another tune from the archive of my mind and some recordings knocking around here...
Here's the take without the frilly bits, no > or < or (3s, as button prefers it ~

Rick's - Ballinakill Traditional Players 1931
Is this hornpipe not "Rick's", first recorded 1931 by the Ballinakill band? (They paired it with "Byrnes" following.) Sometimes it's called "Rick's Rambles" - I heard it once with that title on Ceili House..
The start of this tune usually is
(3DEF|G2GF GBdB|cBAG FG A2
or, on the Ballinakill recording its
(3DEF|GFGA BDEF|GBAG FGA2 at least one time.
2nd part of the tune is nearly the same as you have it -
Bc|~d2Bd edBG|A2EA AGfe|d2dB cDEF|GBAF GDBD|
GDEF GBdB|cBAG FGA2|dgfe dBDF|AGGF G2:|
I seem to recall there is another way of playing the 2nd part which I've heard in sessions, but don't know where that comes from.
Happy Holidays all,
Lesl
