7/8 Melody

Original tune by Victor Call. Irish and other musicians others of a more modern bent wishing to expand their musical sphere have expressed interest in 7/8 tunes. This one just might add a tiny cog in the grand wheel of the greater repertoire.

Are you planning to post any traditional Irish tune in the future?

?????????

Don't listen to that rubbish hernesheir, a good tune is a good tine wherever it comes from.

Apparently Jeremy doesn't seem to have a problem with these non-traditional tunes so...

Besides, at least there're no problems that I can see with the notation.

Cheers,
Armand

Jeremy doesn't decide if a non-traditional tune should be deleted just by himself. I doubt he has looked at the notation of this tune yet.

Hernesheir, you've posted 3 tunes composed by one and the same person in a row. Why don't you post a traditional Irish tune for a change next time?

From a 'grumpy old man'

What the f*** - Why can't You people just submit some old or new composed irish (celtic) tunes - what do I know.
All these non-irish (celtic) tunes can be submitted elsewhere (I think).

Perhaps some people have a problem reading a 7/8 tune? Or they wish to confine 'ITm' within their own personal boundries and oblige others to abide by those boundries?
Who's Victor Call anyhow?

Is this and Iberian or an Iranian Traditional Music site?

You guys need to chill out….go and practice or do something creative with your time that is productive and not negative.

Honestly who are we to decide what is a trad. and what isn’t? and fyi what we consider trad at one point was not trad.

i dont care if this tune is irish or not...it's good anyway...

It's a matter of relevance. Nobody cares if you like it.

Trad. musicians 'round the Northern Hemisphere may perchance pause to gaze up into the sky and notice that the ancient summer constellation Ursa Major, the Great Bear, a.k.a. the Big Dipper, is composed of seven stars, and then perhaps contemplate their own very recent origins and the bare roots of their chosen or adopted musical traditions, and then revisit this tune in a better frame of mind.

I still like the melody and continue to play it despite the corrective vituperation or rhetoric so generously offered. It is a very simple melody. Can you make it sing on your instrument or in your intimate ensemble of musicians?
