The Phone Call

This tune was written by a fab piano accordionist from Bath, England, called Abby. I find it to be a very "accordionish" tune, as it's damn near impossible to play on the fiddle with those high notes. Apparently the name was inspired by a series of marathon telephone conversations she had with a fiddler from London.

It's also known as Dan's. Dunno why.

Not because it's in B minor per chance?? Like it a lot!

Aah you need a licence to get into the higher register on the fiddle in ITM but that won't stop me learning it!

Not Irish, should be deleted.

In B minor, should not be deleted.

People should quite bitching about what's here and should get deleted, let the able webmaster decide.

^^Mate you missed the sarcasm

Well - I think (bitching or not bitching). Some folks maybe need a pair of glasses, so they are able to read the words on the first page at 'the Session' , wich are, as follows:

The exchange of tunes is what keeps TRADITIONAL IRISH music alive.

Sorry Dan, that wasn't directed to you, but to mehitabel23, and if that was sarcasm, I did miss it. My apppologies.

Ceili, just pass on by then. Quiet making yourself miserable by getting so worked up over what's being posted here and let the webmaster decide what he wants on his site. Simple and easy. :-)

Marty yes i initially thought you were directing it at mehitabel but now looking at my stupid comment it prob deserved what you said to mehitabel!!

Btw, mehitabel is the fab accordionist from Bath called Abby just so you know now! :-)

Marty - Sorry I stepped on Yours or anybodys toes, but I think Jeremy decided what he would use this site for, when he made it - namely IRISH session tunes.
And my guess is, that he can't - or have the time to go through all tunes. I guess the words on the first page says everything, so it's up to all of us submitters, not to fill it up with all kind of world-folkmusic (even if they are good tunes). I think this will be good web-etiquette.

Sorry, Marty, I wasn't being sarcastic but tongue-in-cheek. I totally agree with you, I'm in your camp, so to speak.

Oh DAN!!! That was meant to be a secret!!!!!!
You nutter!

Love you really.

Bleedin' 'eck, you post an innocent tune, and come back a while later....

# Posted on December 6th 2007 by Joe CSS

Abby it's quite apparent that it IS you when you click on your profile lol (tho some people may not know where Bath is hmm....contradicting myself)

Ah well sorry to spoil the surprise!

Ha ha Joe you really posted this tune "innocently"? hmm i'm not so sure you did ;-)

# Posted on December 7th 2007 by D.J.F.

Hardly!! Maybe, Dan, you just overestimate the observational power of....well, everyone!

Just been to see the Messiah...again...makes every other composition feeble....

Anyway yahhhhh call me tomorrow night, I'm babysitting again (why? why?) and I will be bored without someone to chit chat to (and Joe knows how long I can chit chat for...)

Mehitabel23 - YOU are the mysterious accordionist from Bath?! OK! It's all starting to make sense now! I suppose that you, Dan Foster, would be the "Dan" of the title, then?
I wonder who the fiddler from London is though...

# Posted on December 9th 2007 by Joe CSS

Perhaps it is me...but now i am not sure... however it is said that everyone in folk knows each other!

The fiddler from London seems a shy chap...never seen or heard him...he should perhaps show his face sometime.

I'm glad we've nearly gotten to the bottom of this mystery.

Rumour has it that she once spent seven hours on the phone to this mysterious fiddler! What on earth did they talk about, I wonder?
