Jig or slide? by Il paese delle mille danze

An Italian folk band named "Il paese delle mille danze" recorded a set of 3 jigs as follows:
1. The rakes of Kildare
2. The Kesh jig
3. this Gan Ainm
Gan Ainm sounds, for me, more as a slide, but anyway I look for a true title for it.

I would sya its neither jig nor slide, that's a Tarantella.
But the Italians here should know more about this than myself.

12/8

You could rewrite it in 12/8, drop a bar-line her and there. It will look like a slide. There is certainly a feel that bars 1&2, 3&4 etc could be joined together and be correct. Does that make it a slide though?

It certainly moves along at a pace, when I play it. It would be good to get a title though.
I'm calling it a Tarantella at present until someone comes up with an alternative.

South of the border, down Mexico way,
That's where I fell in love where stars above, came out to play.
And now as I wonder, my thoughts ever stray.
South of the border, down Mexico way.

~ oops! ~ I meant Spain... 8-)

So that's your idea of a title then 'c'??

Heh, heh, heh ~ amigo! Too bad there aren't emoticons with sombreros, so you'll just have to imagine that, a Gallician Mexican, with a sombrero and bagpipes, gaita... Hey, you want to meet my sister? :-P
