The Road Downhill

The author of this tune is one Russian guitar player. Unfortunately I do not now his name. He play this thing on guitar tuned in DADGAD.
The structure of repeating in original version is not standard: AABBA' (variation of first part). But anyone can play it in any way he want, isn't it?

There is a great interest to the Celtic and Nordic (both in broad sense) music in our country. A lot of musicians play traditional themes and write their own.
I shall be very appreciated if someone write his opinion about this tune. Is it resemble some traditional melodies or looks like modern thing?

That's great that Russians are interested in Irish trad music. But based on this example, I'd encourage your guitar friend to learn a lot more about the music before he or she tries to compose any more "traditional" tunes.

I don't mean to be nasty about this, but I will be blunt: This doesn't sound in the least bit Irish or traditional to me. In fact, it 's just a random stream-of-consciousness series of notes, with no sense of phrasing or melody line. And clearly no understanding of Irish trad tune structure.

The best way to learn these things is to learn lots and lots of traditional tunes by listening to them, as played by players immersed in the tradition. Recordings will do as a source of tunes, but it's far better to learn face to face from real live musicians. I bet lots of Irish musicians would be thrilled to tour around Russia--encourage your local performance hall to book an Irish band or musical duo. And then ask them to also provide workshops to teach the music.
