Ceolachan, is this a traditional tune? I like it. thanks for putting it up.

I wrote this simple tune so as to add to the lack of slip jigs there are in traditional music. The last b in the first bar should an octave lower.

I'm innocent Marty, Joe did it all hisself...
~ "lack of slip jigs there are in traditional music." ~ yeah, pull the other one... At least you fessed up to the obvious...

Now that you've "added to the lack..." does that mean there's an even greater lack? If less is more, is more less?

PS. This doesn't change the number of traditional slip jigs.

There has to be a better reason for ordering notes into a melodic line than just filling in percieved blanks... I'm a believer in inspiration... Daft as it may sound, I don't make the music, it makes me... I can't imagine 'doing it', and definitely not as an evangelism to propagate some form of tune I imagine is in need of increase. Where's the heart or humours in that?
But waffle aside, after your correction, and taking the tune as it is, bare, structurally it fits the norm of traditional slip jigs, so not an awful creation, and Marty likes it. Even if you give one person pleasure that's a good thing, but I would still question your motivations... It just sounds so sad they way you've put it, there being so many fine slip jigs in the world...not that there isn't room for more, good or not...

Woops...
Heh heh heh, now it's making sense. Sorry Joe, sorry Ceolachan. I've been thinking this whole time that Ceolachan posted this, and was getting more and more confused reading these comments, until I just went back and re-read who posted it really. I don't know where that nonsense came from, but now all is set to right. Sorry boys.
