"The Slieve League Slip Jig" ~ from the playing of Con Cassidy
On the CD this is given as a 'untitled / gan ainm'. The notes continue ~
"This slip jig was common around Teileann and Gleann Cholmcille. The Gleann Cholmcille version has a low ending in both parts, Con plays the Teileann version where the second part has the high ending."
This tune is very familiar to me, and I also mean outside of Con's influence. I did several searches here and elsewhere and have not found an exact match for it yet, but I have also only searched for it so far in the key given. As both areas mentioned in the notes are in the realm of Slieve League, until a 'proper' name is found, I've given it this geographic connection rather than leave it just another nameless wonder. It also allows it to link up with the recording ~ which as said previously, is highly recommended...
Here is an approximation of the Gleann Cholmcille version with some of my occassional ways with it ~

It does bear similarities to several other slip jigs I've checked out ~ but nothing yet that I've found that is close enough for me to consider it as the same tune... It would be great if someone else finds a match. I will keep looking...
