The Lollipop Man
This is a tune I learned off John Skelton's album, "One At A Time".
In the sleave notes John says:
"The Morris dance tradition provides a wealth of simple and beautiful tunes; this one is from Adderbury, Oxfordshire. Slowing it down revealed this gentle melody."
On the album John plays it like a flowing air rather than a reel and it is really very beautiful like that.

Other transcriptions
There are a number of other transcriptions sitting on JCs tunefinder - or at least there were when I was hunting for one a few years ago. The ones I found were pap. For example, I am looking at one now classed as a reel but with a time signature of 6/8 and with 6 crotchet beats to the bar!! The notes aren't particularly good either.
There will certainly be other versions of this tune however and this is just John Skelton's take - or my take of John Skelton's take.

Scottish versions?
I played part of this tune to Marc Duff a few years ago (and were you there too Nigel?) and there was a strong suggestion from the both of you that this is a Scottish tune in origin or, at least, that there is a Scottish version of this tune.

Some variations
Skelton varies the way he plays it each time through. Some variations include in bar 3, instead of | B2 GA BAGA | playing | BAGA BAGA | - it is a small change I know.
Also, in the last bar he lengthens the notes on the last time through to play | B2 A2 G4 | at the same time as slowing right down.

The Road to Buggleskelly
BTW - I am still looking for a transcription of The Road to Buggleskelly from the same album so if someone who knows it could oblige that would be fantastic.

And as usual, it has words
The lollipop man has a great big stick,
He charges the kids only a penny a lick.
He gets it out whenever he can,
He’s a dirty old bugger, he’s the lollipop man
