I wrote this on 02.02.07 following a weekend of bagpipe music in Okehampton, Devon. On 30th June 2007 a group of men sporting 'Okehampton Pipe Band' badges gathered in the Plymouth Inn. Someone commented "I never knew Okehampton had a pipe band!" whereupon the merry crowd produced CLAY pipes and lit up! They were going from pub to pub having their last legal smoke in each one before July 1st's smoking ban - seemed worthy of a tune!!

Great story behind the tune! Thanks for sharing it with us. It's a good tune too!

The blatant plagiarism from Lennon/McCartney in the final bars is intentional - that's what I was playing when the "band" arrived. Not an original idea of mine though! Blame Matt "The Seatles" Seattle for that!!!

Not bad
Not bad at all, but the Session rule is for every 5 trad. tunes, you can post an original... so you owe us 15 trad. tunes!
We look forward to them.
