Bottle Bank
Another from our outstanding Northumbrian Hornpipe-Hero, James Hill. He lived for a long time on Bottle Bank in Gateshead near the current Hilton Hotel. The Hawk pub was nearby and that features in another of his many tunes.

Ten green bottles
Drop them in the bank
Ten green bottles
Yesterday's a blank
But we'll save the planet
Tinkle tinkle clank
With ten green bottles
All dropped in the bank.

Wouldn't you just know it, another Hill tune and that's like rattlin' Dafydd's cage...
However, I don't believe you actually made it to the bottle bank after downing ten, more like you chucked them with dinner, only the bottles were slung higgldy piggldy for the cheap inebriated thrill of hearing breaking glass...

You sound as if you are writing that out of your formidable store of nefarious personal experience, ceol!
