"The Birds in the Tree" ~ another hornpipe
However, some of you may be familiar with this melody in another guise... The first transcription in A is from the playing of John Kimmel, and yes, he does swing it, and yes, he does do those 4 note runs as well. The second transcription is me taking that melody down to its more common key, in its other guise, but keeping the hornpipe going and having a bit of fun in the process. Considering the relatives, maybe this will particularly irritate the hornpipe hating member whose name, like Lord V of the Potter books, I will not name for fear of conjuring up their presence...
I'll add simpler transcriptions, without those >s and (3s later...

I'm sure Paul Brock and Enda Scahill recorded this on their melodeon and banjo duet album "Humdinger": http://www.thesession.org/recordings/display/2290

"The Birds in the Tree" ~ al fresco
I would be remiss if I did not honour my promise of always giving any swung notation I've add here in it's plain brown wrapper versions ~
