It actually doesn't have an offical title yet- he's still deciding on it. SOME Class members prefer "Diddly Idol" over "Desperate Housewives", and I think that might in incur less copyright indignation.

Hi Zina - youre still with us! The mind boggles as to how anyone could compose a reel while watching Desperate Housewives. It just all seems too incongruous. I'm going to see John in October - who knows he might play it then.

Other names drafted have been The Desperate Housewife (but he doesn't want his wife to think he's refering to her), or after his fav particular Desperate Housewife, but he says it would be telling to say which one, so you can ask him when you see him, Donough.
I personally liked That Would Be Telling, but got shot down in flames. *smirk*
Slainte-san, this is definitely a John Carty tune, not the Camber Lasses -- you can take it up with John as to whether he was channeling the tune, though.
Got one of the B's wrong, though -- am correcting it in the ABC. (Hey, I was doing it in a hurry between classes.
)
Am sitting here transcribing more tunes for JC, using a borrowed gorgeous mandolin by G.D. Armstrong. Wow. I don't play mandolins, but if I did, I'd like it to be like this one. Perhaps I'll borrow one from Herb Taylor next. Will have to watch it, it'll be banjos next and then it's all over.

I love the 5 string too (there really is no hope for me)
I was at the Herschel a few weeks ago and there was a young lad there who had won the previous All-Ireland under 18s on banjo and he was terrific. Finbarr Dwyer was there too. Quite a night.

Ditto! ~ One all-Ireland tenor banjo player helped us all to earn enough to feed ourselves on a dark and stormy bit of busking in Galway...and it only took minutes with his charm and skill to get enough for a quite generous feed. So me too, as an appreciator of banjos, in the right hands of course...

Dear Zina, I've missed you, but have smiled every time I see your presence here. Yes, the pipes, the pipes ~ are out of tune and sound like a traffic jam... That applies to some I've known, but, I'm glad to say, maybe from being out of circulation, that mostly that hasn't been the case for me, in Eire anyway ~ except for recently ~ out of tune and out of time, some local 'talents', though the latter word is ill misused...

John gave us a variation for the second time thru the A part:

I believe he prefers the part that way pretty much as a matter of course the second time thru though of course he didn't insist on that, in much the same way that he seems rather bemused that some people have taken one of his variations (the galloping bit) for Seanamhac Tube Station and turned it into part of the tune every time they play it.
