Road To Mount Tinnie Run

This is in response to a tune request and a chance to get my ABC boots back on.

This is a tune by Ivan Drever (formerly of Wolfstone) and is on one of their early albums.

I got the manuscript transcription from Marc Duff and (judging by the handwriting it was probably originally written out by Alistair McCulloch.

Welcome back to the land of ABCs ~

Damn nice notation Alarum ~
but I'd be sorely tempted to throw in one sharp at the very end:

Ooooh - cheese! Maybe you could do that the last time through before going into a tune in A major. I am not about to change the transcription though - it is not my tune!

I saw Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever in Dundee on Thursday night. It was a great show but not very well attended. I think the publicity could have been better. Duncan tells some great stories. They are just like Phil and Aly! ;-)

Reelish sounding jig

I obviously have cloth ears this morning :-(
I clicked on the midi and thought "reel" so I looked at the dots, definately jig.

Oh well, it is monday

Reelish sounding jig

I think it is that long, tied note at the end of the first bar/start of the second that gives it a bit of a reely sound (or at least confuses the tempo) in the first part. The second part of the tune sounds more like a jig though.

It is a great tune. I just need to learn how to play it properly now. :-(
