This is a composition of Carina Normansson from Swåp. I've seen it referred to as a hornpipe before, but I think it sounds more like a schottische. The 1st part repeats, but the 2nd part doesn't, so it's like a schottische hybrid, being more barndance-like in the 1st part, and more fling-like in the 2nd. There aren't any Scotch snaps in the recording, but the schottische-like dance in the tune lends itself to them quite well, and I find myself putting them in automatically, something like this:
Oh man, our lead fiddler used to make us perform this, we were keen to begin with, then went off it after a couple of years, then developed a deep hatred for it...just from overplaying, you know? Still, thanks for the post. Good to see somebody as far away as Oz knows it, it's a good Scandi tune and Swap are top class.

Here it is rewritten with repeats in both parts, taking on more of the feel and form of a standard schottische.

Yeah I can see how it's the sort of tune that would start to grate if you overplayed it...
