Scatter the Mud
I've been feeling this jig is too repetitive and boring to play, but I got in trance with it this afternoon. The version I picked up from Kevin Burke's playing is:
eAA B2A|eAA ABd|eAA BAB|dBG GBd|
eAA B2A|eAA AGE|GAB dge|dBA A3:|
eaa egg|dBA ABd|eaa egg|dBG GBd|
eaf g2e|dBA AGE|GAB dge|dBA ABd:|
Eileen Ivers plays the similar one.

Emerald Rose version
Here's how Emerald Rose plays it. Quite different, but nice.

Re: Emerald Rose version
Somewhat similar to Kevin Burke's version. Especially the second part.

oops. First and fifth should be |ecA B2 A|

Scatter the Mud question
I was listening to this (it's amazing):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YVfKKCsF7k
and was wondering if anybody knew where there was sheet music for this version fo scatter the mud which has many more parts than the standard A minor 2 part one I hear at sessions. Does this tune in multi-part form have other names perhaps?

Re: Scatter the Mud question
Well IMHO it is 'scatter the mud' with a good few variations and a little playing about with the timing. I can't really hear a separate third part.
I really like his playing and the reel which sounds to be 'new mown meadows' as stated on the site is a lovely session tune.

Re: Scatter the Mud question
After watching it, I was prompted to watch this -

Its poor quality but it's a story everyone should know.

Re: Scatter the Mud question
Sounds like the regular two part Scatter the Mud to me.

Felix Doran recorded it as Doran's Fancy in 1949:
