Nina's Jig - composed by Niall Vallely

A great tune to play when a "slinky" jig is called for in contradancing. This tune appears as second tune in a jig set on the album "Buille", with Niall and Caoimhin Vallely and Paul Meehan.

Key for this tune?

I'd call this key F#min, but that's probably not the correct mode. Comments & corrections are invited. Anyway, I've posted it with 3 sharps. Even though G# doesn't appear in the melody it would be the correct note if used in ornaments or chords.

F# minor it is. That is certainly preferable and less confusing than A major. 3 sharps is still correct. Take the first triplet in bar 1 and add a passing note between F# and A. it would have to be G#.

F# minor - yes, but how to call it that?

When listing a tune here, F# minor doesn't appear as a choice on the drop-down list of keys - unless I'm missing something - thus the rather confusing choice of A-major to squeeze in the three sharps.
