M: 2/2 (2/4) Q: 126

At two beats to the measue, 126 beats per minute ~ as was the dance tempo recording I transcribed this tune from, Adam Rennie and his quartet. This tune, and others, is described in several instances as a 'reel', what is often used as a catch-all term for anything in duple (4/4 - 2/4) time (& in the past for just about any tune danced to), but this one has more the feel of a relaxed ballroom polka, my reason for transcribing it in 4/4 and under 'barndance' instead of as a 2/4 polka. Adam Rennie used it in a set with 'Petronella' for the dance of that name. These tunes also work well for dance in general, being strongly rhythmic, and for longways progressive dances, like American contras, 'Petronella' being one example danced worldwide and as a favourite...

I have another tune by Adam Rennie that better fits our expectations for 'polka' and I will be adding that later in 2/4, also so you might hear and see the differences. I'll add the link when the tune is added.
