Sir Torquil Monroe
I believe this is an Adam Rennie composition. I had it on a 78rpm disc in a set of four jigs:
"The Golden Pheasant" (not by Rennie)
"Sir Torquil Monroe"
"Elizabeth Donald" http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/7146 and
"Mrs Grace Bowie" http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/7147
I transposed them from Bflat to A - of all of them, Sir Torquil least suits that transposition.

Adam Rennie Appreciation Week ~ "Sir Torquil Monroe"
Thanks for the contributions Nigel. I was half hoping that Kenny might also know some of his tunes... I had come across your ABCs for this one on the Internet and have been playing around with it in G... It was fun, a kick, but I hope I haven't taken too many liberties. It has ended up somewhere along the following lines ~
X: 1
T: Sir Torquil Monroe
M: 6/8
L: 1/8
R: jig
K: G Major
