I transcribed four jigs from an Adam Rennie 78rpm record I had, this being one of them. The original pitch was B flat, although I don't know whether that was what they were played in, or whether it came out like that on the recording, or my equipment. Whatever, I transposed them into A major.
I have assumed that all four are Rennie compositions, but I can't confirm that at the moment. The others are "The Golden Pheasant", "Sir Torquil Monroe" and "Elizabeth Donald", which ceoloachan has submitted.
Adam Rennie was a fiddler from the county of Angus in Scotland, and had at one-time a popular dance band.

It's interesting how quickly this musician's style comes across--at least as the few tunes submitted suggest.
One notation suggestion I'd make in this one would be B sharps instead of C naturals, then you can see the shape of the tune at a glance and eliminate one accidental (the return to C sharp). Of course, as a music teacher, I know how confusing B and E sharps and F and C flats can be to people, so I can see the reasons for using the C nats here.

Interesting comment, you 'see' as I do... I love the physical shape of the dots too, like a wave form... Though, like you, I realize and honour convention too...

I have just remembered that "The Golden Pheasant" is an older jig, early 19th century at latest, so not a Rennie composition. In the RSCDS book 16, it is given in B flat, so it's likely that Renniue did indeed record all of the four jigs in that key.

Fun tune
I first heard this bouncy tune paired with the Hogmanay on the "Fennigmania" album years ago. I don't know in what key Bill, George and Toby played it (according to their liner notes, they learned it from a New Victory Band album); but it's also on JC's tunefinder in the key of A - as it is here.
