The Silver Wings Polka
This is a good tune and I hope my transcription does it justice.
Though called a polka it belongs with the barndances (and is, IMO, easier to write out in 4/4 anyway). It has been attributed to a composer called Adam Rennie. On "Harthope Burn", the quintessential recording of the three Northumbrian "Shepherds", Will Atkinson plays this tune solo on the mouthorgan.

Silver Wings Polka - errors in transcription
Have made mistakes as usual in transcribing this tune:
In the third line of the music (in part 1 of the tune) the four successive high A notes ought to be high B's;
in part 3 of the tune, two C naturals ought to be an octave higher (i.e., very high).
I'll alter ABC's, yet again..!

Adam Rennie Week - Caddam Wood
Don't forget "Caddam Woods", often attributed to "Rennie/Cameron" - possibly one of the Cameron Men who worked with Dancie Ried in Newtyle, as did Rennie.

"Caddam Woods" ~ attributed to Adam Rennie
"Caddam Woods", that brings back memories, thanks... I haven't played that in ages. Weused to play it for dance.
Thanks also for all the added information on tunes by Adam Rennie... I hope more transcriptions will surface during the week... I'd love to see the other polka, "Janette Gibb’s Polka", and the one he composed for the Military Two-Step, "Up With the Lark"... Hint, hint...

Adam Rennie
I've just found another collection of Adam Rennie recordings, all from 1956, but there is almost no detail about the tunes. One track is simply called "Polka", and sounds like one of his, but no name. I'll transcribe it now and post it a bit later.
