A delightful easy-going tune which appears on Sharon Shannon's CD of the same name. I believe it was written by Stephen Cooney, who plays guitar with Sharon.

I've submitted it in Emaj, which is the key Sharon plays it in on the CD.

Each Little Thingq

I've added this (obviously wrong) 'alternative name' so that the link to Sharon Shannon's "Spellbound" CD is picked up !

Each Little Thing

Sharon plays it in E on concertina on the CD, but it falls under the fingers quite easily on fiddle too in that key. However, here it is in D which some may prefer for a session environment.

Ok , Kenny, button accordion ! Same thing isn't it? ;-)
My excuse is that I'd just come out of testing the abc was OK in Concertina.net !

Gutar Accompaniment

Hi - this is my first comment on the site - I love this place!

Just wondering what the guitar chords are to accompany this in the Emjr that its played in on the CD?

Chords for 'Each little thing'

Ferrise
I don't have chords to hand, as I transcribed this by ear from the CD. There are members here who would be far more adept than I am at jotting down some chord ideas for this tune.

I'm hoping to play it at our local weekly gathering on Wednesday so I'll get one of the guitarists to give me some pointers.

Diarmuid's March

There is nothing wrong with this name for the tune. If you put the "Each Little Thing" CD into Windows Media Player this is the name that comes up. Is it possible that that is what Steve Cooney named it?

The Chords - In E

Well I play in DADGAD so bear that in mind with the chords given. I am capoed on the second fret so am playing D shapes but have displayed the chords below in the key of E.

The B7 chords a lot of the time are just really runs to match the tune running down the D string 6-4-2 (or including the capo 4-2-0). They are not really meant as full chords.

BTW If you go on to become a famous musician and make fortunes out of this arrangement I want my cut!!!!

P.S. Listen to the Midi of my arrangement - it is hilarious, particualarly the pause it throws in before the second part!

Surely this is a march

Listening to the track on the CD I would say this was a march and not a jig - a slow 6/8 march.

My comment about the "obviously wrong" alternative title referred to someone who had listed this tune as "Each Little Thingq" (sic) in the track listing for the CD "Spellbound".

Jeremy or someone has thankfully corrected the title by removing the rogue "q"

D

ps thanks for the chord ideas

Ah Domhnall, I see what you mean.

P.S. Does anyone know how to shut up that chord thing once it has started for, say, 1 bar! :-)

# Posted on June 13th 2007 by No Cause For Alarm
