De'ils in the Fish
A reel from Whinham. The ABC is taken from Graham Dixon's "Book Remember Me" I have included the third and fourth parts as given by Dixon but for myself I find them a little too elaborated and usually stick to the basic tune occasionally using bars1 &2 and 5&6 from parts C &D as variations. More skilful players might enjoy all the twiddly bits

I like this at steady hornpipe speed and can play the triplets then. Are you sure it is a reel?

De'ils in the Fish
You could be right hetty..... but the tune doesn't have the usually 3 crotchet ending of the hornpipe, so I looked it up in the Fiddler's Tune Book and it gives it as a reel.
I just tend to think that the variations over ~elaborate a good tune .

I'd say it was a hornpipe too.

Hornpipe!!! ~ as it sits in the books with two pages of other hornpipes
But things are mixed elsewhere. Nothing states it is a reel and I have to agree with Hetty & Dow, it looks and feels like a hornpipe, aside from being sandwiched between two... It also has that classic ending for the A & B parts ~

& not forgetting all those triplets... Reels by the man are actually rare, and one in the book is given in 2/4 and has no triplets at all...
